It also adds value to your everyday living.

- Proper mowing techniques are essential to produce a healthy, green, weed-free lawn. CL will mow lawn on a weekly basis or as needed to maintain a cut height of 2/12” near homes and 4” in the common area. CL will avoid mowing on very hot, dry days as well as on wet, rainy days.
- Fertilization is important for the promotion of a healthy turf. CL will apply fertilizer to lawn three times a year or as needed. Once in early spring, subsequently in late summer and lastly in early fall. CL will apply 1lb. nitrogen per 1000 sq ft. A pre-emergent herbicide will be applied in early spring and late summer for broadleaf weed and crabgrass control.
GARDEN MAINTENANCE
Garden maintenance to include watering, fertilizing, mulching, pruning, weeding, and winter protection. CL will water newly planted trees and shrubs on a bi-weekly basis. Perennials will be watered weekly. Annuals to be watered by owner (unless arrangements are made with CL). This watering schedule can vary due to factors such as soil and weather conditions.
Fertilizing will stimulate vigorous growth for your plants. CL will fertilize trees, shrubs and mulched beds in early spring or as needed. TO achieve proper health and vigor, CL will use a balanced high nitrogen fertilizer such as 10-8-6. Fertilizer will be spread around trees and shrubs and in mulched planting beds.
The primary goal of pruning is to remove old and diseased branches and limbs, increase flower and fruit production, stimulate more vigorous growth, formalize the outline of the plant and offset the loss of root structure at time of planting. Spring flowering shrubs will be pruned just after their bloom period has ended. Summer flowering shrubs will be pruned during the dormant period prior to spring growth. Pines will be pruned in spring and spruces will be left un-pruned. Perennials will be pruned after plant has finished flowering.
Planting beds will be replenished with 1” of mulch (customers choice) in spring to retain soil moisture, control weeds, reduce soil temperature fluctuations and prevent damage by lawn mowers or line trimmers.
Weeds are noxious and unsightly. CL will weed designated planting beds on a weekly basis or as needed.
Most young deciduous trees require winter protection to reduce sun damage during the winter season. Tree trunks will be wrapped from the base of the tree to the crotch of the first branch before Thanksgiving and will be removed by mid-April. Shrubs will be protected with a hardware cloth. The cylinder will be placed 30” to 36” high and anchored into the ground by placing topsoil or mulch around the base of the cylinder. This will prevent small animals from crawling or burrowing beneath the fencing material. Cylinder will be removed in spring.
SNOW PLOWING
Christenson Landscape will plow snow to areas designated by customer. Salting may be applied as needed.
